A Conversation with Tracy Sells: Building Occupancy in a Challenging Environment

Tracy Sells, Principal of Harbor Storage Group, has been in the self-storage industry since 1996. Tracy began her career with Storage USA, one of the first self-storage REITS, and later held various positions within the industry’s largest operators, including CubeSmart and the William Warren Group/StorQuest.

Tracy’s background and experience cover all aspects of the self-storage business—including operations, marketing, revenue management, feasibility studies, financing and acquisitions—and together with her family, she also owns three facilities, with direct management responsibility for two of them.

Tracy recently sat down for a conversation with StorTrack to discuss the challenges of building occupancy in the current environment and how she uses Optimize as part of her overall strategy to overcome them.
